Cellulite - Is It All In Your Mind? Explore The Possibilities

Information about the mind and it's ability to effect the functions of the body is a hot topic. There has been much written about it in the past. Some people agree with it wholeheartedly while others are sceptical and doubt the sources. Most recently, respected doctors and scientists in the public health and wellness world are confirming the strong and important mind body connection.

Bear in mind that the mind is not separate from the emotions. Your emotions affect your mind and your mind affects your body. The way this comes into play with reducing cellulite is twofold:

1) The mind/body connection is important in cellulite reduction because in order to employ the various elements of The Lifestyle approach to minimize cellulite (proper diet, exercise, regular treatments) you need to have a state of mind that will give you the discipline to follow through with your plan.

2) Rarely does the body follow what the mind will not accept. If deep down you don't believe that you can ever have a body that YOU like and find attractive then it will be difficult for you to change your body.

Let's look at the first point, the importance of the mind body connection in helping you to use the Lifestyle approach to reduce cellulite. There are treatments that will help you to get rid of cellulite. Some of these treatments, like Endermologie and Velasmooth are expensive. Other treatments, which include creams and gels or body wraps are less costly. Using creams or gels regularly requires that you make this a part of your daily routine.

These treatments give various results depending on the individual, but they definitely help. But no matter how much the treatments help, you still need to eat properly and exercise. This will help you not only to beat cellulite but to live a more healthy energized life. There is tons of undisputed evidence that exercise will improve if not extend the life you are living.

If this is true (which it is) then why don't more people exercise? Time is the number one answer, but if you really examine your life, how much time do you waste? Do you watch TV? If so, get up during the commercials and jog, skip or walk in place. Or do some conditioning exercise for your backside, legs or abs. Small amounts of exercise really do add up over time.

Here's the mind body part: If you think that you are worth it and hold yourself in high enough regard then you will take the time to take care of yourself and your needs. This includes exercise. Regular fitness will improve your health and help you to decrease cellulite.

Try sitting in silence with no TV, radio, ipod or any other noise for just 5 minutes. Visualize or picture yourself or feel yourself practicing habits that are healthy for you. Do this once per day and see if you can "trick" yourself into taking the Lifestyle Approach to reducing cellulite and improving your life.
